About Me

My yoga journey began in my 20s, when I quickly realised its tremendous benefits to both body and mind.  Ever since, yoga has remained a true constant, helping me through all manner of changes and challenges in my life.  From the moment I began on the path to teach, it became a true passion for me.  I believe that we all have the ability to change our lives for the better, and it is my experience that once established on the path of yoga, an individual rarely leaves.

I qualified with the British Wheel of Yoga Diploma in 2006 (www.bwy.org.uk) and have undertaken continuous further study since then.  In 2008/09, I completed the Yoga and Anatomy training with Gary Carter (www.naturalbodies.co.uk), giving me an in-depth understanding of the underlying principles governing safe, effective and progressive yoga teaching and practice, and the ability to coach individuals on a one-to-one basis in both yoga and corrective posture work.

I am a qualified Yoga Sports Coach with Yoga Sports Science (www.yogasportscience.com), working with athletes at all levels integrating yoga into training programmes to enhance performance.  This includes strength and conditioning training, the use of breathing techniques to develop respiratory strength and endurance, and techniques for building and maintaining mental focus for performance.
