Preparation for yoga classes
Above all, you need to be comfortable. Wear loose clothing, and bring a sweater, socks and a blanket. Changing facilities are available at all the above venues.
A non-slip mat is essential for safety in yoga. I can provide a mat for your first session. Mats are available for purchase.
Keep hydrated before, during and after the class. It is advisable to avoid eating a large meal in the 3 hours before the class; a small snack up to an hour beforehand is fine.
Health and safety
Yoga is non-competitive, and to keep within safe boundaries you must work at a level appropriate your abilities and never force anything. You must notify me if you experience or subsequently develop any of the following (or any other serious condition):
|
· Muscular/skeletal/spinal injuries · Arthritis or rheumatism · Thyroid conditions · Whiplash injuries · Osteoporosis |
· Sinusitis · Epilepsy · Pregnancy · Recent surgery · Varicose veins |
· High or low blood pressure · Heart conditions · Asthma · Multiple sclerosis · Ear/eye disorders (incl. glaucoma, detached retina) |

Child safety
I take all ages from 13 upwards in my own classes, and have full CRB Enhanced Disclosure as a teacher, giving me clearance to work with children.
